I have spent my entire law enforcement career fighting to protect those that could not protect themselves. My hope, as a TreeTop volunteer, is to help influence how we provide for the care, welfare, and safety of those seeking help as they tell their story and begin their healing journey.

I continue to volunteer because there is plenty of work and so few volunteer workers. Knowing the work that is being done by TreeTop is life changing has challenged me to continue volunteering.

TreeTop has given me an ongoing drive to help those that cannot protect themselves. The impact I continue to have is an ongoing compassion for our youth and their innocence.

Honestly, this has been the most challenging part of volunteering with TreeTop. I am constantly amazed at how it could be possible for anyone to know about the life changing work TreeTop does every day and not be compelled to do something to support them. I’m truly baffled. Knowing this has challenged and made me more determined to share what we do at TreeTop. So, the number one thing I can do is be the example of what we need.

Knowing that 60% of all children will be exposed to crime, violence, and some type of abuse during their childhood helps me appreciate the advocacy TreeTop provides. While TreeTop Advocacy can focus on intervention and services, the multidisciplinary team can continue with an effective investigation, disposition, and treatment.
