Mark Hurlbert is an attorney with Huntley and Associates in Breckenridge, specializing in civil litigation.
Before joining Huntley, Mark was a prosecutor with over thirty years experience. Starting out as a Deputy District Attorney in Eagle, County, he rose through the ranks and became the elected District Attorney for the Fifth Judicial District. He served in that position for ten years, prosecuting all the homicide and many of the sexual assault cases in the district. After being term limited, Mark became the Assistant District Attorney in the Eighteenth Judicial District, District Attorney’s Office which served Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln Counties. As the Assistant District Attorney, Mark was the second in command and oversaw the day-to-day running of an office of over 250 employees. He also started the Eighteenth Judicial District Cold Case Homicide Unit. With the mountains calling, Mark moved to the Eleventh Judicial District, District Attorney’s Office, which serves Chaffee, Custer, Fremont and Park Counties as the major case prosecutor. Throughout his time as a District Attorney, Mark has prosecuted dozens of cases of child abuse and child sexual assault.
Mark grew up in Dillon and graduated from Summit High School, before getting his Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College and Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado School of Law.
Mark raised two kids in Summit County and currently lives in Breckenridge with his wife, Cathy and dog Rossi. In his free time, he likes to run, bike, ski (both alpine and Nordic), hike and backpack.
