Melissa Barbour
Meet Melissa, the meticulous organizer and record-keeper driving TreeTop Child Advocacy Center’s board operations. As Secretary, she ensures seamless communication and coordination, helping the board stay focused on empowering children and families affected by abuse. Melissa Barbour (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the Manager for Eagle County Department of Human Services-Children, Family and Adult Services division. Melissa holds both and Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Social Work both from Colorado State University (CSU) and specializes in the area of child and adult protective services. After completing her education at CSU, Melissa spent a short time in Denver working for Head Start and then moved to Eagle in 2013 to begin her career in child welfare at Eagle County Department of Human Services (ECDHS). Melissa has held several positions on the ECDHS team since then including as a caseworker, supervisor and manager. Melissa currently oversees the child protection program, adult protection program and child maltreatment prevention program. Melissa currently sits on Eagle County’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee- aiming to consciously make Eagle County a great place to live for all.
Melissa enjoys spending time with her family in the wild rocky mountains- skiing, backpacking and mountain biking. Melissa is also a volunteer coach for her young children’s sports leagues (basketball and soccer) and enjoys creating a fun and safe space for Eagle County’s youngest athletes!
