Thomas Wright is an experienced Detective currently assigned to the Investigations Bureau of the Eagle County Sheriff's Office. He has served in law enforcement for over 20 years, having been a certified peace officer since 2001. Thomas began his law enforcement career in Central Missouri. Thomas and his family moved to Colorado 12-years ago settling on the Western Slope.

Thomas is a seasoned investigator with specialized expertise in child abuse, domestic violence, strangulation, cyber forensics, and human trafficking. He is a certified forensic interviewer for children, a hostage negotiator, and a trained expert in crime scene investigation and homicide analysis. He holds certifications in various disciplines, including cyber investigations, drug impairment training, and crisis intervention, among many others.

Thomas is dedicated to continuous professional development, evidenced by his certifications in areas such as sexual assault investigations, juvenile justice, and trauma-informed law enforcement responses. His commitment extends to leadership roles, having served as the Board President of the Battlement to the Bells Anti-Trafficking Task Force (BATT), and as a certified instructor for human trafficking investigations in Colorado.

Thomas has a broad range of expertise in criminal investigations and a proven record of leadership and commitment to law enforcement, Thomas is a highly respected member of the Eagle County Sheriff's Office and the wider law enforcement community.
