Wendi Petro
Executive Director
She/Her
Wendi serves as the Executive Director of TreeTop Child Advocacy Center, bringing more than 20 years of executive leadership experience across nonprofit organizations, academic medicine, and entrepreneurial biotechnology companies. She holds an MBA with an emphasis in Finance and a Master of Science in Management and Organizational Development. Throughout her career, Wendi has been committed to building strong organizations through strategic leadership, sound financial stewardship, and a passion for serving communities.
A proud Summit County resident, Wendi is dedicated to ensuring that every child and family served by TreeTop receives compassionate, trauma-informed care. Outside of work, she enjoys skiing at Copper Mountain, relaxing on the beaches of Maui, and spending time with her greatest joys—her son, Wyatt, and her grandson, Stetsyn.
What I love most about TreeTop is the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of children and families during some of their most difficult moments. Every day, I have the privilege of working alongside an incredibly dedicated team and community partners who share the same commitment—to ensure every child feels safe, heard, and supported on their path to healing.
One of my proudest moments has been helping strengthen TreeTop for its future—bringing people together around a shared vision, building strong community partnerships, and creating a foundation for sustainable growth. Seeing our staff, Board, volunteers, and supporters unite around our mission reminds me that when a community comes together, children have the best chance to heal and thrive.
Living in the mountains is a daily reminder to slow down and appreciate what matters most. I love skiing at Copper Mountain, enjoying the incredible beauty that surrounds us, and being part of a close-knit community where neighbors genuinely care for one another. Whether I'm hiking among the evergreens, skiing the high alpine, or simply taking in a fresh mountain morning, I'm grateful to call this place home.
